The Periodic Table of the Isotopes, published by International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), is now available from the Commission on Isotopic Abundances and Atomic Weights, which is a commission under the Inorganic Division (Division II) of IUPAC.

Purpose of the Commission
For several decades the Commission on Isotopic Abundances and Atomic Weights (CIAAW) has met biennially, at or prior to, the IUPAC General Assembly. CIAAW evaluates the scientific literature and publishes, at regular intervals, a Table of Standard Atomic Weights, a Table of Isotopic Composition of the Elements, and a Review of Atomic Weights of the Elements. As needed, abridged Tables of Standard Atomic Weights and recommendations on reporting of isotopic data are published.

In support of the IUPAC project “Development of an isotopic periodic table for the educational community”, CIAAW presents the IUPAC Periodic Table of the Isotopes in full resolution (3.4 MB).

Recent CIAAW News

• Atomic weights of 5 elements have changed. The standard atomic weights of magnesium and bromine are now expressed as intervals, which reflects the common occurrence of variations in the atomic weights of these elements in normal terrestrial materials. In addition, the standard atomic weights of germanium, indium, and mercury have changed. These new values are found in the Table of Standard Atomic Weights 2011, which also includes Tables abridged to four figures and five figures.

• The new IUPAC Periodic Table of the Isotopes has been updated with the new names and symbols of elements 114 and 116, flerovium (symbol Fl) and livermorium (symbol Lv).
